Wind Support NYC was founded in January 2021 to promote and support projects utilizing sail and wind propulsion to reduce fuel consumption for a greener commercial shipping and maritime public transportation.
Wind Support NYC is headquartered in the Brooklyn Navy Yard where Grain de Sail, and the growing number of wind propulsion projects launched in Europe motivated the creation of company. We have launched the Hoisting the Sail, a supply chain podcast, with interviews of innovators and professionals who use the wind to power the maritime supply chain.
We are assisting live projects on the East Coast of the US such as schooner Apollonia, Grain de Sail, with logistics support, business development, marketing & communication along with legal and regulatory advice. Locally, we are reaching out to the NYC Waterfront actors, advocating for a working waterfront, with infrastructure enabling the development of a fleet of small cargo sailing vessels, a pier to pier supply chain.
