Mitsui OSK Lines (MOL) has completed the first retrofit installation of its Wind Challenger hard-sail propulsion system on an in-service vessel, the 235m, 90,000 dwt bulk carrier Kurotakisan Maru III, which transports coal for Electric Power Development Co. (J-Power). The Kurotakisan Maru III becomes MOL’s third vessel equipped with the technology, following earlier installations on the Shofu Maru and Green Winds. Read more…
