Back in the great Hansa city of Hamburg with the always excellent Motorship conference team for the 46th Propulsion and Future Fuels conference. The opening presentations and panel discussion on MEPC-ES and the Net Zero Framework deliberations brought everyone back into the room at the IMO in October. All of the presenters and panellists Lars Robert Pedersen from BIMCO, Torsten Mundt from the German Federal Ministry of Transport, Olaf Doerk, from DNV, Maria Skipper Schwenn, Pernille Dahlgaard, MBA, GCB.D from Mærsk Mc-Kinney Møller Center for Zero Carbon Shipping and Christoph Thiem from Hapag-Lloyd AG did a great job setting the scene.
We had a taste of wind propulsion from last year’s Motorship award winners bound4blue and our Secretary General moderated a panel on wind propulsion, including insights from Lauren Eatwell, head of WindWings at BAR Technologies, Dr Uwe Hollenbach, senior principal engineer at DNV Maritime Advisory and Jan A. Opedal, Manager Projects, Odfjell Tankers.
