The wind propulsion interim guidelines will be finalised in 2029
SDC 15: Finalization of interim guidelines for the safety of ships using wind propulsion and wind assisted power.
MSC 116: Approval of interim guidelines for the safety of ships using wind propulsion and wind-assisted power.
A correspondence group will be established with the following terms of reference with regard to wind propulsion and wind-assisted power:
- review the Intact Stability Code and the second-generation intact stability criteria and identify which parts should be revised for ships with wind propulsion and wind-assisted power;
- consider which parts of IMO instruments identified in annex 5 to document MSC 110/WP.9 could be relevant for the development of interim guidelines for the safety of ships using wind propulsion and wind-assisted power;
- collate information on relevant hazard identification exercises conducted previously, such as indicated in document SDC 12/INF.26
